Vince McMahon has been the sole authoritative figure for WWE for over 40 years. While the business magnate has been out of the WWE big leagues for a short period, he’s made his appearance again. As Endeavor finalized its bid to merge UFC and WWE, McMahon took his rightful place yet again at the top of the promotion’s food chain.

With UFC and WWE merged under TKO, McMahon has become the executive chairman of the media conglomerate. However, his ascension also means the removal of a core and beloved part of WWE. Speaking on the loss, WWE CEO Nick Khan expressed his thoughts on the resignation of the former WWE chairperson.

In a conversation with Bill Simmons on his podcast, The Bill Simmons Podcast, Nick Khan expressed his feelings about Stephanie McMahon’s resignation. He said, “Ultimately when Vince came back, she decided that she was ready to go and step out. I respect the decision. I wish she hadn’t done that.” Khan emphasized his admiration for Stephanie, both as an executive and as a person. He made it clear that her decision was her own.

He further added, “And she knows that from me personally. She’s a terrific executive and a terrific person,” implying that he acknowledged her work at WWE. He concluded by saying, “That’s her decision, her relationship with Vince is theirs, and once she made it, I have total respect for her decision,” underlining his respect and understanding for her decision. In 2022, allegations of misconduct surfaced against McMahon. This made him step down from the company as an investigation into the matter unfolded.

 After that, Stephanie McMahon joined President Nick Khan as Co-CEO along with her husband Paul Levesque, aka, Triple H, who took the role of creative head. However, after Vince McMahon’s return earlier this year, things changed drastically.

What happened after Vince McMahon’s return?

Upon Vince’s recent return to the board of directors, he brought back former WWE co-presidents George Barrios and Michelle Wilson, replacing JoEllen Lyons Dillon, Jeffrey R. Speed, and Alan M. Wexler. Furthermore, Man Jit Singh and Ignace Lahoud decided to step down from the board following Vince’s comeback.

Later on, Vince McMahon was elected as the chairman of the board, marking a significant development. Interestingly, this transition coincided with Stephanie’s decision to resign from all her executive positions within WWE. As of now, Levesque still actively serves as the Chief Content Officer at WWE where he is the driving force in the creative domain.
