Just a day ahead of WWE’s 37th edition of the Royal Rumble PLE, negative controversies have struck WWE as a major sponsor earlier pulled out from Royal Rumble. Once again, Vince McMahon is at the helm of things due to the issues he had earlier. However, as per the new update, the sponsors are back with WWE within 24 hours.

Sponsor comes back after 24 hours of chaotic drama

WrestleVotes posted an update on X on January 27th about the chaotic situation between WWE and one of their major sponsors, Slim Jim. The tweet read, “After yesterday’s chaotic day, and the events that transpired, I am told Slim Jim is BACK as a main sponsor for tonight’s Royal Rumble PLE along with future WWE events.

The chaotic moment in reference is related to the cancellation of the sponsorship deal between Slim Jim and WWE, due to recent allegations levelled against Vince McMahon in a lawsuit.

Due to the allegations, Slim Jim was forced to take strict actions against detaching any association with Vince McMahon. Hence, John Pollock of Post Wrestling tweeted a statement from Slim Jim on January 26th, “Slim Jim values integrity and respect in all of our partnerships. Given the recent disturbing allegations against Vince McMahon, at this time we’ve decided to pause our promotional activities with WWE. This decision reflects our commitment to our brand values and responsibility to our community,

As an immediate repercussion, Vince McMahon stepped down from all positions related to WWE, directly and indirectly. He resigned from his position at WWE after TKO was formed, but now he is no longer associated with TKO Group either.

But why is Slim Jim so adamant on Vince McMahon?

Slim Jim stands by its brand values

Slim Jim is one of the top brands to partner with WWE and their pairing has been iconic for nearly 30 years now, starting from the 90s. The commercial ad films has featured superstars like Stone Cold and The Undertaker. The partnership has fizzled out a few times including one instance in mid-2000s.

However, their recent actions were expected considering they did something similar last year when allegations were raised against Vince McMahon. The move signalled brand’s commitment towards their values and their responisbility towards community. Their recent actions are a reflection of the same.
