WWE stars could be considered just as popular as other combat sports athletes, if not more. Regardless of their fame, they are often targeted for their work by others. This is because of the scripted nature that the promotion follows. WWE is strictly a sports-entertainment promotion. Although some of the moves that happen inside the ring do take their toll, the match itself is supposed to be scripted.
Athletes engaged in other combat sports often use this point to criticize pro wrestling itself. Ex-WWE star John Morrison recently connected with Ariel Helwani to talk about his boxing debut. The conversation did not go by without Morrison taking shots at his former co-workers.

Roman Reigns caught under Morrison’s boxing pride
Morrison entered WWE in 2004 having won the Tough Enough reality show. He had a successful career as a tag team wrestler first as part of MNM which included former WWE star Joe Mercury and Melina and then with The Miz, After his initial release from the company he returned in 2019. Eventually, after leaving it again in 2021, Morrison went on to try his luck in the sport of boxing.

The wrestler won his debut boxing match with a KO win over Harley Morenstein of Epic Meal Times at Creator Clash 2. This made him proud of his achievements. The boxer appeared on Ariel Helwani’s talk show and said, “Triple H, CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, on Saturday I did something that none of them could ever do… that’s win a real fight.”

Boxing matches are not scripted and hence require a different set of skills. This led to Morrison putting himself over the likes of Roman Reigns, Triple H, and other WWE wrestlers.
However, this isn’t the first time that another combat sports athlete has called out WWE wrestlers. UFC superstar Conor McGregor has done the same on several occasions.
