AJ Styles Could Have Been the Next Brock Lesnar – Arn Anderson Makes a Bold Claim

Brock Lesnar can be described as a rare commodity for the fans. We say this because of his limited appearances on WWE television or live shows. Along with this limited screen time, Lesnar has undoubtedly received one of the biggest pushes in WWE history, if not the biggest.
Lesnar has, without a shadow of a doubt, delivered on the faith that the WWE put in him. Hence, it is really interesting to think about where other WWE wrestlers would have been at the moment if they had received ‘The Beast’ push.

WWE Hall of Famer Arn Anderson was also a producer for WWE between years 2001 and 2019. In a recent statement in his Arn podcast, he confessed his true thoughts on AJ Styles’ career.
He said, “He didn’t come through the WWE system. He’s not a product of WWE. He’s a star that was a star everywhere else in the world that he went. I think all of those questions were still in place [in May 2016]. If he would’ve walked in the door and he would’ve looked like Braun Strowman but he could work like AJ, don’t you think he would’ve got the full Brock Lesnar push?
So, it is about, ‘What does he weigh? His height? Oh, he came from that other show?’ All those things that you put on a guy that don’t matter.” (H/t Sportskeeda)
Anderson revealed that AJ Styles could have been as big of a superstar as Brock Lesnar if only his physical appearance was along the lines of a typical bulky wrestler.
Brock Lesnar and AJ Styles in the WWE
Lesnar debuted on WWE (then WWF) television on the March 18, 2002, episode of RAW. This was the start of an illustrious career that is still continuing to date. ‘The Beast‘ became the youngest ever titleholder of the prestigious WWE World Championship and a three-time WWE Universal Champion among others.

‘The Phenomenal One‘ is a two-time WWE Champion and the current holder of the RAW Tag Team title with his partner Omos. Hence, it is clear proof that size never matters if you have the talent to make up for it. After all, Rey Mysterio is the BIGGEST example for it.

Contrasting the careers of AJ Styles and Brock Lesnar, we can see that both superstars have had very different career paths. What Arn Anderson said could be held true. Maybe AJ Styles being taller with a more bulky physique would have steered his career in a different path altogether. But this doesn’t mean that he has achieved nothing at WWE.
What do you make of Anderson’s comments?
