The Undertaker has last seen wrestling AJ Styles in a boneyard match at WrestleMania 36. At the ripe age of 55, Taker does not have many matches left to give the fans. But could the WWE be setting Taker up for his next match?

The rumor broke out after Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer reported that a match between AJ Styles and the Undertaker could be in the works. He did not mention when, so we can assume it could be somewhere in August during SummerSlam.

The Undertaker’s documentary, The Last Ride, was recently up for viewing, and the Superstar has been quite vocal about it. Many other Superstars of the WWE were quick to praise Taker for his new documentary.

However, one person who hasn’t shown a liking for it would be the Phenomenal, AJ Styles. Styles has been on and off about the Taker situation.

Ever since making his debut for WWE, Styles has won the championship two times while feuding with some of the best in the company. WWE seems to be teasing that there is still heat left between the two, but how fans would react to the Undertaker facing the same opponent again is doubtful.

Ever since being buried by the Undertaker at WrestleMania 36, Styles has been haunted by his presence. WWE has given him this whole new dynamic to work on, which could be a build-up for the match.

Styles was one of the participants of the Money in the Bank ladder match, which Otis won eventually. During the event, Styles was first dismayed at seeing a poster of the Undertaker. Aleister Black then proceeded to lock the Phenomenal one in a room full of Undertaker’s props.

With how things ended at WrestleMania, giving the two another match does seem fine on paper. With Styles’ ongoing comedic gimmick, it could lead to a good interaction. However, it is doubtful if Styles could get a win over the Undertaker.

Styles is a great-in ring worker, and can really sell his antics. However, Undertaker should be facing newer opponents. A match with the legendary Deadman can give a boost to many younger superstars in the WWE.
