One of the most heated feuds happening in WWE is undeniably the spat between Dominik and Rey Mysterio. What started with Dominik’s turn at Clash at the Castle has spiraled into a heated and tense situation. As WrestleMania is approaching, Dominik is finding every way in the book to collect more heat from the audience as well as infuriate them.
The whole bit where Dominik asks Rey to hit him, after doing something as atrocious as tearing up a mask, is getting on the nerves of the audience. But this only goes to show the time and effort that the management is ready to pour to make Dominik come out as a bigger star. Also, seeing this build-up happen this close to WrestleMania has many people speculating about a big match between the Mysterios.

But before that, get ready for a lot of Dominik and Rey segments, where the two recreate a lot of soap opera gimmicks perfectly. This will only give the audience sweet relief when Rey lays his hands on his own son. The build-up to their match also reminds the fans of the events between Rey and the legendary Eddie Guerrero, back in the day involving Dominik.
Dominik Mysterio’s attempts at snubbing his father go wrong as fans call him out
Dominik posted a picture with him and Rhea Ripley from last week’s SmackDown. In that match, Dominik scored a win against Santos Escobar, but not without the help of his Mami, Ripley. This seemed to make the crowd even angrier. After that, he went on to tear the mask that Rey had given to Escobar to rub the defeat in his face and attacked his father as well. He also shared a tweet with some a bold claim.
Only Mysterio that matters…⚖️ #Judgmentday pic.twitter.com/xPZMmAqLbg

Obviously, fans have shared their opinions under the tweet. They range from being harmless toward Dominik to aggression toward the young wrestler. But all of them have one thing in common: appreciation for Rey’s legacy.
Rey is undeniably the Mysterio who has left a mark in audiences’ minds.

In most audiences’ eyes, Dominik is still just a child, as they saw him with Eddie Guerrero back in the day.

Dominik is still a luchador, just like his father. Let’s see if Dominik will change his move set in the future.
You'll always be in his shadow as long as you do his moves. IE the 619.

These fan reactions just go to show that Dominik is far out of his league when it comes to Rey Mysterio. While this storyline is easy to understand and follow, fans are getting annoyed about Rey not doing anything about his son.
Let’s hope that we get a happy ending to this story at WrestleMania 39 where Rey puts his son down for all of this drama and teaches him a lesson.
