Jeff Hardy is a household name in WWE. Jeff has won almost every possible championship in WWE. Not only did he win multiple championships, but also kept the crowd at the edge of their seat by performing some dangerous moves. One of his memorable matches was the triple threat match between Jeff Hardy, Edge and Triple H at WWE Armageddon in 2008 for the WWE Championship.
Though Hardy had the support of the WWE Universe, one person who was not pleased with Hardy’s win was Triple H. Speaking to Ariel Helwani, former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. explained that during his time as the WWE writer, Michael Hayes gave him the task of elevating Jeff Hardy to the level of WWE Champion.

How did Freddie Prinze Jr. make Jeff Hardy the WWE Champion after objection from Triple H?
Freddie Prinze Jr. revealed very few people were against it. But when Triple H put forward his objection, he got very nervous. He said (h/t: WrestleZone), “Hunter brought it up, and everybody else was cool. And he says, ‘Are we really going to trust the championship with this guy?’”
But soon after that, Freddie played his ace-card, which got it over for him and Jeff Hardy. He said, “So I came out of the dark with that, and I said, ‘Listen, this guy’s merchandise is already the top-selling,’ and I showed them the numbers on that. And I said, ‘It’s outselling everyone it’s even outselling you, man,’ I said, ‘We got to take a chance now while we can strike now while everything is ready and perfect or they’re gonna stop believing.’”
