“Are You F**King Kidding” – The Undertaker When He Found Out Maven Would Eliminate Him at the 2002 WWE Royal Rumble

It’s a dream for every young wrestler to get in the ring with an established name, and defeat them. It’s how young wrestlers are put over. Therefore, when Maven was informed he would eliminate The Undertaker at Royal Rumble 2002, he was shocked!.. And so was The Deadman.

During his conversation with Chris Van Vliet, Maven revealed that when Shane McMahon informed him about what was about to happen, The Phenom was with McMahon. He was unsure why both of them wanted to talk to him, but the young wrestler just waited for what was coming his way.

“I get to the arena, I’m walking to the ring. Shane and Taker come up and see me and they’re like ‘man, we want to tell you what we got going on tonight’ and I’m already like ‘why Shane? Why does he care?’…  I thought it would be one of the agents coming up to me.”

“They tell me ‘ you know, Taker’s going to sh*tcan everybody out, Then you’re going to come out. It’s going to be you and him and he’s going to do something and then you’re going to hit him with that dropkick and eliminate him. I’m like ‘what?’ and Taker turns, looks at Shane and goes ‘are you f*cking kidding me?’”

Even though The Undertaker was taken aback, him agreeing to put Maven over at Royal Rumble 2002 was what helped make Maven’s career. In fact, Maven revealed during the same conversation that he strongly believes it was Taker who helped boost Maven’s career.

Maven and The Undertaker have left behind their wrestling days

The Undertaker officially retired from WWE at Survivor Series 2020. He did not return to the ring to have one last match during the event. However, he did come in his black gear and pulled off his legendary on-the-knee stance while paying a tribute to Paul Bearer.

As of now, there is no news of Taker returning to WWE in any capacity.

Coming to Maven, he is not actively working as a wrestler with any promotion. In fact, he is working in finance for a company at Wall Street.
