Last Friday, during the airing of SmackDown, it was made official that Sheamus would make his return on RAW. After being absent because of injury since August,’ The Celtic Warrior’ returned this Monday with a victory over Ivar. The Celtic Warrior made his entrance to the ring to a standing ovation from the audience in Montreal, Canada.

But this time, something was different. While several rejoiced that Sheamus returned to the WWE with his old entrance music, many noticed that he had gained a bit of weight. Something that the haters picked on, but the fans came out in defense of the Irish superstar.

The much-awaited return of the Warrior

Montreal, Quebec, Canada saw The Celtic Warrior making his first entrance in over half a year. Wearing his classic attire, and entering with his old theme song “Written in My Face,” Sheamus approached the ring with a standing ovation for his one-on-one against the Viking Raider. But, after winning his first bout, he also decided to emerge triumphant over his haters, who were calling him fat on social media. The Celtic Warrior simply wrote, “I’m just big boned”.

Sheamus had been absent from WWE programming since August 2023 because of a serious shoulder injury. Initially, the timeline drawn up had suggested that he could return in a few months. However, the injury prolonged to such an extent that he could not be a part of WrestleMania 40. But now that the former WWE champion is back, fans are already showering him with love. So much so that they are fighting the haters for him!

Fans defend Sheamus from vitriol

As soon as Sheamus shared his response to his haters, fans too shared their tweets supporting the returning superstar. Here are some of them protecting the Irish wrestler:

One user is ready to fight the haters for Sheamus.

This user remarked that size did not matter as long as the former WWE champion made his comeback in a grand way.

This user shot down all suggestions that implied Sheamus was in bad shape and lauded his physique.

Using Sheamus’ signature style of saying Fella, this user called his weight gain a no big deal.

This user simply asked Sheamus to ignore the haters.

Well, it surely looks like the fans are in full support of the WWE superstar. Sheamus’ last match before his break was against Edge (now Adam Copeland in AEW), in what ended up being the farewell match of WWE’s ‘The Rated-R Superstar’. Sheamus is another superstar whose contract was set to expire in 2024. But it may have been extended into next year due to the sheer number of months he has been injured.
