A lot of WWE stars start their journey as nobodies but end their careers as legends. Perfect examples of those are Dwayne Johnson, John Cena, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and even ‘The Big Red Machine’ Kane. They all started their wrestling careers with in-ring gimmicks that were not loved by fans and hence were short-lived.
But as time went by, they found their niche and worked on that. And now upcoming wrestlers are trying to emulate them. One such wrestler who has been infamously compared to The Great One for aping him talks about the time the fans finally accepted him.

LA Knight will always remember that moment the crowd accepted him
Knight made his proper WWE debut in 2022 under the name Max Dupri. He was the manager of the ‘Knight Model Management’ which consisted of ma.çé and mån.sôör. The group’s name was later changed to ‘Maximum Male Models’ and Sofia Cromwell (currently with the ‘Alpha Academy’) joined as Knight’s sister named Maxxine Dupri.

But after some time he beat down ma.çé and mån.sôör and went back to his og persona of LA Knight. After him going solo, it took some time for the crowd to accept him. But Knight remembers that one appearance on SmackDown when the crowd actually started cheering for him upon his entry.

On the recent podcast episode of ‘Insight with Chris Van Vliet’’, Knight was asked when he actually felt that the crowd had started accepting him. Knight remembers vividly and said, “Back in march, we were in DC. Sheamus and Drew were in the ring and all of a sudden that music hit. And I walked out and I remember it just kinda hit me and I was like ‘That’s different’.”
And as time has gone by, you can actually see a substantial difference in the crowd’s energy whenever LA Knight pops up. Fans are actually rooting for him to win the Money in the Bank ladder match this Sunday at the O2 Arena in London.
