WWE fans were left dumbstruck when Shayna Baszler betrayed her long-time buddy at MITB. Thus losing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles which Rousey fought so hard for with the WWE management. Fans had never imagined in their wildest dreams that Baszler would betray Rousey. The duo had established themselves as a force to be reckoned with making the turn of events more stunning.
That was until MITB when Baszler showed her true colors by backstabbing Rousey and choking her inside the ring. But as fans worldwide watched this event with shock, Rousey knew exactly what was happening.

Ronda Rousey has had two successful stints with the WWE. One between 2017 to 2019, during which she won the RAW Women’s Championship. She then returned to the WWE for the second time in 2022 and has been the Smackdown Women’s Champion and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion since then.
But it seems like Ronda’s days in the WWE are winding down as ‘she gave a final date’ to the management. And that’s exactly why fans saw the shocking turn of events take place at MITB. But according to sports historian and respected wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer, this is exactly what Rousey wanted in the first place.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer explained, “The thing was that we were saying Ronda and Shayna were winning the tag team titles, and then Ronda got hurt. The thing is that I don’t know the date, but it might be SummerSlam or a little after. The deal is that Ronda has a hard out. She has a date, she gave a final date.”

He later added, “I talked to someone in the company about this being a WrestleMania match, and they said that she’ll be out before WrestleMania.”
But with Rousey’s exit from the WWE, fans are hoping she will make her MMA comeback immediately after that.

Rousey would definitely like to forget her last bout in the Octagon as it was not a memorable one. She fought against then-champion Amanda Nunes in UFC 207 in 2016 but lost due to a technical knockout.
Post that loss, she immediately moved on to WWE and never looked back. That is, until now, when she is on her way out of the WWE at the end of her contract. Fans are hopeful of seeing her reign supreme in the octagon once again after nearly 7 years. When asked about her return to MMA by Ellen DeGeneres in 2018, she said it’s just as likely as her going back to another Olympics for judo.

But with the stage set, fans know for sure that Rousey is not going to take that show of utter disrespect from Baszler quietly.
