Big E Gets Emotional: “I Hope We All Continue to Honor You in the Way You Deserve”

Jon Huber aka Brodie Lee tragically passed away on December 26th, 2020. The grief of his passing will forever linger as a dark cloud over the pro-wrestling industry. A year later, pro-wrestlers continue to express their grief, and one such WWE Superstar is Big E.

WWE Champion Big E took to social media to elaborate on his relationship with Brodie Lee. He revealed how close the two of them were. So much so that E was present during one of Lee’s son’s amateur wrestling performances. The video still holds a place in E’s phone, and forever will so!

Not only were they the best of friends, but had made retirement plans together.

“The dream of driving fifteen minutes to his Tampa House for Sunday dinners when we retired still lingers. There will still never be anyone to fill his shoes.”

The day of Lee’s passing came as a massive shock to the entire pro-wrestling industry. WWE, AEW, and other promotions gave their own tribute to Jon Huber at different occasions.

Brodie Lee passed away after being diagnosed with Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. This condition makes the lungs unable to transport oxygen to the bloodstream.

The WWE Champion has a tough challenge ahead of him on January 1st, 2022. He has to defend his title against three strong competitors – Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley, and Kevin Owens.

It was initially supposed to be a triple threat match between E, Rollins, and Owens. However, Lashley wanted an opportunity as well. It came to a point where he had to defeat all three of them in single matches in the same night to capture that position.

Once he made it to the Fatal 4-Way match, the other three tried quite hard to get him out of the match but failed. It’s going to be difficult to predict who is going to walk out of the match as champion since all four of them have the capability of pulling the weight of the Red Brand as WWE Champion.
