Back in the day, a former NBC Sportscaster had an interview with Vince McMahon. However, that interview didn’t end the usual way, but with a door slamming and a heated McMahon walking out of the station at the end of it.
It so happened that Bob Costas constantly asked him questions that riled up The Big Man. He wanted to grill Vince McMahon, and picked topics that McMahon didn’t want to talk about.
“I knew that there were topics to cover with McMahon. The XFL was in its first and last year. It was getting literally the lowest ratings in the history of prime time television for any programming, not just sports programming. It was schlock. I was crap, and I know I’d have to ask him about that and since he was there and seldom interviewed in real setting.”

However, Bob Costas did give Vince McMahon a prior warning. He made the WWE Chairman aware of the questions he was going to ask, and at that point, it didn’t seem as though the situation would blow out of proportion.
“The interview became very heated. Perhaps, because he wasn’t expecting to be challenged. Alright, I told him in the green room beforehand there were going to be some tough questions.”
Of course, Vince McMahon wouldn’t have attacked someone on Live TV. But, if he had, it probably wouldn’t have ended well for Costas.

Vince McMahon and Bob Costas had a second interview
After almost getting into Costas’ face, The Big Man left the studio extremely irked. He took the time to cool off and reached out to Bob Costas the next day.

He offered him the possibility of doing two more interviews. They had the second interview a year later, which went rather well. However, they never did a third interview together.
Over the years, they’ve run into each other once in a while. Once, Costas met the WWE Chairman at a restaurant, and Stephanie McMahon & Triple H were present too. That time, HHH warned Bob Costas that Vince McMahon had brought backup!

Interestingly, McMahon had always revealed he never touched Costas cause they weren’t in the same weight class. Bob Costas thinks that’s a ridiculous notion because even individuals of the same weight class cannot beat up one another on Live tv!
