WWE Champion Bobby Lashley is ready to go whoever tries to come between him and the title. Now, it seems that he is ready to fight another athlete who holds the replica of the title.

It so happened that Marcus Stroman, baseball pitcher for the New York Mets, became the player of the match after the team secured a victory over San Diego Padres. To honor this, he was presented with a Championship title belt replica to Stroman.

Bobby Lashley noticed the belt over Stroman’s shoulder, and called him out. He put out an offer for a WWE Championship unification match to decide which of them should hold both the real and the replica belt.

Obviously, this was a joke. There is no way WWE will book a match between Bobby Lashley and Marcus Stroman. However, the idea of having the unification match to determine who should hold the real and replica title is interesting and hilarious at the same time.

The story of Bobby Lashley and the WWE Championship

At the beginning of 2021, Drew McIntyre was the WWE Champion. He put the title on the line at Elimination Chamber, and retained it at the elimination chamber match against other Superstars. Unfortunately, The Miz capitalized on his Money in the Bank contract and defeated an exhausted McIntyre to become the WWE Champion.

A week afterwards, Bobby Lashley and The Miz had a match, where The Almighty defeated Miz and became the WWE Champion for the first time.

However, Drew McIntyre wasn’t done. He wanted to win the title back, and as a result, started feuding with Lashley. In the meantime, Sheamus wanted to pursue the title as well. Instead of booking a triple threat match, WWE divided the PPVs. Sheamus battled Lashley for the title at Fastlane 2021 and McIntyre battled Lashley for the title at WrestleMania 37. The Almighty retained the title both times.

The next PPV was WrestleMania Backlash. McIntyre continued his feud with Lashley and Braun Strowman became a part of it. Therefore, WWE booked a triple threat match at WrestleMania Backlash. The Almighty defeated both The Monster Among Men and The Scottish Warrior.

Following this, Lashley put out an open challenge to everyone except McIntyre and Strowman since he has already defeated them. Kofi Kingston answered the call, and MVP tried to put down Kingston using his cane. However, McIntyre came to Kingston’s rescue and helped him win.

Now, Kingston refused to acknowledge McIntyre’s contribution in his win and that resulted in a match between them. In the first match, Lashley and MVP interfered and there was no concrete result. For the second match, WWE warned Lashley and MVP to not be ringside as it could result in a 90 day suspension without pay.

McIntyre won that match, which earned him another opportunity at the WWE Championship title at the upcoming Hell in a Cell 2021.
