Apollo Crews lost the United States Championship to Bobby Lashley at Payback. The win got Lashley’s stable Hurt Business their first major title in the WWE. Clash of Champions 2020 was Apollo Crews’ second opportunity to win back his title.

The group has been feuding with him since he turned down the group’s offer to join them. Before Lashley, MVP unsuccessfully challenged Crews twice.

However, after Payback, The Hurt Business not only took Crews’ title, but they also took away Crews’ friend Cedric Alexander. Alexander betrayed Ricochet and Crews and joined the heel stable after Payback.

At Clash of Champions, Ricochet accompanied Apollo Crews to the ring and the rest of the Hurt Business accompanied the champion. Lashley overpowered Crews throughout the match as MVP shouted, “are you feeling the hurt?” and “this is business” as Lashley tossed Crews around.

However, Crews slowly got the upper hand as MVP looked on from the ringside. Crews showed his immense resilience as he kicked off after a suplex and delivered a frog splash to Lashley.

Bobby Lashley made Crews tap out

Despite putting up a great fight, Apollo Crews tapped out to Lashley’s infamous “Hurt Lock.” Crews looked on in disappointment as Lashley celebrated with the rest of the Hurt Business.

The Hurt Business has been busy fighting off the Retribution as WWE’s “security.” Hence it was expected that the Retribution will disrupt the match, something that didn’t happen.

Now that Hurt Business is busy with the chaotic group, we can expect the storyline between Crews and Lashley to be over. Although Crews did not win, he put up a great fight against the industry veteran. An extremely physical match was rightfully won by Bobby Lashley.
