CM Punk has a natural knack for attracting controversy. Despite currently being away from the squared circle due to a torn triceps injury, The Second City Saint cropped up in the everyday wrestling hot-picks, and this time with Booker T’s voluntary step.
This week WWE NXT featured veteran Booker T on hand to call the action alongside Vic Joseph. And on the other hand, some rare footage showed Punk’s unforeseen backstage presence during the show. Booker T added to the surprise by claiming an ‘almost’ altercation with the Chicago-based star. Now, as the internet has been ablaze with the approval and denial of the news, the five-time WCW Champion continues putting on layers to the saga.

During a recent episode of his “Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker T stunned the fans by spilling a secret backstage beef with CM Punk. But WWE NXT was far from buying this story, as they claimed nobody other than Booker T himself witnessed that fallout. Before the situation became more bewildering for fans to decode, the NXT color commentator came up with a further clarification. Suggesting people not to make a big deal out of it, the 59-year-old re-validated the authenticity of the escapade via a tweet. ”People are making an issue of a 40-second clip out of a 2-hour show… the dispute between

Booker T lambasted the social media trend for CM Punk’s All In controversy
CM Punk’s AEW tenure amounted to dealing with controversies. The one that he couldn’t deal with at the end came last year after a seemingly petty ALL-In a scuffle with Jack Perry. It resulted in Punk’s permanent departure from the company. Talking about the social media effect of the incident, Booker T commented, ”It’s always been that way in this business. Two guys are just gonna butt heads. So when it happened, boom, it’s a friction. That’s just part of the game. Now it’s just reported a whole lot more because of social media and whatnot.
