In an episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T revealed his top five superstars who are currently wrestling in WWE. Number five is former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. United States Champion Bobby Lashley comes in fourth place. Kevin Owens is the only member on the list with no title win in 2020, at number three. Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn round off the list.

Booker T’s co-host Brad Gilmore shared a tweet saying, “Sami Zayn is #1 on Booker T’s top 5”. Sami was not taken aback by the news at all. After embracing his dark side, Zayn has turned to being snarky and sarcastic. He retweeted Brad Gilmore’s tweet and only wrote, “Booker T gets it.”

Zayn has had a stellar 2020

Booker T really did get it right. Sami Zayn has had a stellar year. He started off the year by winning the Intercontinental Championship from Braun Strowman at Elimination Chamber. He took a hiatus from WWE after defending the title against Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 36. The concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic is the primary reason for the hiatus.

This led to a triple threat ladder match at Clash of Champions where Zayn used some clever trickery to win the title. Jeff Hardy launched himself off of ladders and Styles used his wrestling prowess and ring awareness to stay in the match. Zayn ended up winning the match by producing a set of handcuffs. He handcuffed Jeff Hardy’s ear to a ladder and cuffed Styles to the ladder, which helped him ascend the ladder and become the Undisputed IC Champion.
