The heated rivalry between Bret Hart and Goldberg takes us back to two decades ago. Bret “The Hitman” Hart and Bill Goldberg share bad blood from the time when one swift kick from Goldberg cut short Hitman’s career. At the main event of WCW Starrcade 1999, Bret Hart and Da Man, aka Goldberg, locked horns for the WCW World Heavyweight title.

Goldberg delivered a botched kick to Hart’s head that soon caused the post-concussion syndrome. This ultimately led to the end of Hart’s pro-wrestling career for good in 2000.

A resurfaced video from Stone Cold Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Session podcast has stormed the internet. During the conversation with The Texas Rattlesnake, The Hitman mentioned that Goldberg was a dangerous superstar in the ring.

“Golberg, to me, was one of the most unprofessional wrestlers there was in the business. For Bill Goldberg to be in the Hall of Fame; he hurt everybody he worked with. You might as well wrestle a real gorilla. He was the most dangerous guy to work with. I remember Curt Hennig being in pain all the time from the matches they had,” Bret Hart noted.

The Hitman added, “When I worked with Bill, I always think the last words I said to Bill before we went out for that match, and he ended my career. I said, ‘Bill, whatever you do out there, don’t hurt me. Do whatever you want. Just don’t go nuts!'”

For those who don’t know, Hart and Bill Goldberg, before this incident, worked together. Just ten days before their clash for the WCW title match, Hart and Da Man captured the WCW tag team titles at WCW Thunder.

Bret Hart took wrestling fans on a rollercoaster ride!

Wrestling fans went berserk when they re-lived this resurfaced video from Steve Austin’s The Broken Skull Sessions. Fans imagined that Bret Hart has been resenting Goldberg’s botch kick for more than 20 years.

“Bret Hart is gonna shit on Goldberg for the rest of his life, and I’m ok with that,” @TheEnemiesPE3 tweeted.

Miss Peacockery said, “There are three constants in a day: sunrise, sunset, and Bret hating Goldberg.”

“The only thing I love more than a consistent lover is a consistent hater, and Bret Hart has hated Goldberg longer than I’ve been alive, and I have to respect that greatly,” Dani mentioned.

Meanwhile, some fans believe that it’s time for The Hitman to move ahead in his life. Fans don’t want to see Hart smacking Da Man even after 100 years.

“100 years from now, Bret Hart will be 6 feet under, and his corpse will still be bitching about Goldberg. You had a long career & earned well. Move the fuck on already,” @bigberthafaye mentioned.

Robert Kostman has a different opinion. He believes The Hitman should never forget what and how Bill Goldberg ended his pro wrestling career.

“Personally speaking, I don’t think Brett should ever get over it. Everything that Bret Hart said is true, and Goldberg is the one responsible for ending his career,” Kostman said.

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg has expressed that an unfortunate situation turned The Hitman bitter towards him. To Goldberg, Hart was special to him, and the last thing he wanted was to injure him.
