WWE recently revealed that a tournament will take place to crown the new World Heavyweight Champion at WWE Night of Champions on Saturday, May 27, 2023. 12 participants will battle each other to win the title. There will be six participants each from both RAW and SmackDown.

From the RAW brand Cody Rhodes, Damian Priest, Finn Bálor, Seth Rollins, Shinsuke Nakamura, and The Miz will take part in the tournament. AJ Styles, Austin Theory, Bobby Lashley, Edge, Rey Mysterio, and Sheamus will represent SmackDown.

Many top names like Gunther, Drew McIntyre, and Roman Reigns are absent from the participant list. This latest piece of news has prompted fans to react on social media. Fans believe Brock Lesnar will take his WWE Backlash revenge on The American Nightmare.

The WWE Universe thinks Brock Lesnar will cost Cody Rhodes the title opportunity
