The entire arena in Saudi Arabia erupted with joy when Seth Rollins pinned AJ Styles in the middle of the ring. The former Shield member became the first-ever world heavyweight champion. His involvement in a Hollywood project earlier paved the way for speculation to arise about a potential loss. Nevertheless, it seems like Triple H still thinks that he is “best for the business”.

The WWE CCO has already stated that the new title is all about opportunities. That’s why just 24 hours after Seth Rollins’ victory, the WWE Universe started to think about the potential first challenger. Fans speculated about the prospect of Rhodes challenging Rollins for the title. However, reliable journalist Dave Meltzer named another former champion, as the likelier pick. It doesn’t bode well for Rollins, who might have hoped for a more manageable challenge rather than being thrust into shark-infested waters.

Just after the PLE Night of Champions, Meltzer talked about the first challenger to Rollins’ championship. According to Meltzer, the WWE superstar Brock Lesnar seems the most suitable candidate for the position. He said that the only reason Lesnar ended up defeating Cody Rhodes is so that he could get a title shot for Seth Rollins’ championship.

As reported by Whatculture, Dave Meltzer said, “I think it’s gonna be Seth Rollins and Brock. That’s why Brock probably wins [at Night of Champions]… so Brock gets the title shot, because Brock hasn’t been able to challenge for the title since Roman.”

Moreover, the American journalist also outlined how the match between Rollins and Lesnar will play out.

The potential outcome of Rollins vs. Lesnar

According to Dave Meltzer, the Visionary is likely to emerge victorious in a bout against the Beast Incarnate. The journalist claimed that the real reason behind Lesnar’s win against Rhodes was so that he wouldn’t lose against Rollins and secure two losses in a row.

He also suggested that Rollins successfully defending the championship against Lesnar would establish him as a “viable champion.”

“Brock’s not gonna lose twice in a row, so they gave Cody an out for losing……. Brock’s a great challenger for Seth if that’s where they’re going…… Everybody thinks that Brock is, not ‘unbeatable’ unbeatable, but very, very difficult to beat. It would establish Seth as a very viable champion if he could get through Brock. Now that Brock has the one win, I guess he could lose to Seth,” Meltzer continued.

Even though several fans and other wrestling stars have been expecting Cody Rhodes to win the world heavyweight championship since its inauguration. But if we go in accordance with what the American journalist Dave Meltzer said, then the ‘American Nightmare’ has to wait a little more. And for Seth Rollins, it seems like soon he will get a ticket to the ‘Suplex City‘.
