The pro wrestling business is not an easy profession. The wrestlers are on the road for over 300 days and barely see their families. Brock Lesnar is currently working under a special contract that allows him to have adequate time off. However, this wasn’t the case during his first run with the company, even though a WWE legend had advised him on this early on in his career. It took time for The Beast Incarnate to understand what the deceased legend said to him. However, Lesnar believed the legend couldn’t follow his own advice.
WWE legend’s wise words to a young Brock Lesnar
It is no secret Brock Lesnar was money and Vince McMahon quickly cemented him as the ‘Next Big Thing’. But with great power came great responsibility. By becoming a top star he had to be on an extremely hectic schedule, which he didn’t like at all.

However, WWE legend, the late Mr. Perfect aka Curt Hennig, told him something that stuck in Lesnar’s mind. The Beast has talked about it in his autobiography, Death Clutch: My Story of Determination, Domination, and Survival.
The Conqueror narrates, “Curt taught me something that sticks with me to this day—in the wrestling business, you have to “Get in to get out!”I can still hear him say the line. Curt knew the pro wrestling business was built on a pile of people who had been used for everything they were worth, and then dumped on the side of the road. I’m not saying that’s right or wrong.”
Lesnar added, “I’m just saying that’s how it is. Since that’s the score in pro wrestling, Curt came up with the idea that the only way to keep your sanity, or your health, was to “get in to get out.” I wish he practiced what he preached. Curt got in and really got out. He died in 2003. Nice rib . . .”

In 2004, a young Brock Lesnar got frustrated with WWE and left the company. He made a name for himself in the world of UFC and then returned to WWE in 2012, with a lighter schedule. Since then he is active as a WWE superstar but hasn’t forgotten Hennig’s words.
Lesnar once shed a tear while remembering Mr. Perfect
Mr. Perfect passed away in 2003, the year when Lesnar was on the top of the mountain in WWE. However, Lesnar was one of the WWE stars who were close to him and once got emotional remembering him.

In an episode of WWE Confidential, ‘The Beast’ is seen crying over Hennig’s passing away. He was close to the WWE legend, and they even had a dark match before Lesnar made his debut on RAW. Clearly, Mr. Perfect’s teachings were so perfect that The Beast remembers and follows them to this day.
An emotional @BrockLesnar paid tribute to Mr Perfect, who died #OnThisDayInWWE 20 years ago:
