Injuries are one of the biggest heels in the wrestling industry since the start. We have seen many people lose their best moments and dream matches crumbling in front of us because of injuries.

Over the years, there have been many instances when wrestlers had to back out because of injuries. One of the most recognizable moments this year was Cody Rhodes.

The man had an injury but still fought and won against Seth Rollins in a Hell in a Cell match. But doing that sent him into a full recovery that took him out for the full year.

Apart from him, Big E and Randy Orton were also nowhere to be seen because of injuries. Orton might even be out for good from wrestling altogether. And this former WWE Champion is just another name added to that list.

Former WWE Champion suffers injury barring him from wrestling

This former WWE Champion is none other than Drew McIntyre. The former Royal Rumble winner was reported to be out of action during the post-Christmas events.

Earlier, the Scottish Warrior was projected to compete in an eight-man tag team match at a house show in the Madison Square Garden, but was taken out at the last second. The match was between the WarGames teams without their heads, Roman Reigns, and Sheamus.

After Survivor Series, McIntyre suffered a minor injury, but he was going to come back till Christmas time. The man shocked everyone when he was inches away from defeating Reigns at Clash of the Castle.

When speculating about the man who would bring down The Tribal Chief, everyone was predicting McIntyre, but it didn’t end up happening.

After that career-highlight match with Reigns, McIntyre continued to dominate the roster. His matches with Karrion Kross were fun to watch and his involvement in the WarGames match gave the man a full circle moment. That match was also the moment when McIntyre and Reigns suffered minor injuries.

While Reigns is returning to WWE SmackDown next week to fight John Cena, McIntyre is nowhere to be seen on a fully stacked card. We hope that he recovers soon.
