Brock Lesnar wouldn’t have become as popular with the WWE audience if he hadn’t returned to the leading wrestling promotion in 2012. This is when Brock Lesnar picked up one of his most iconic rivals John Cena. The Beast Incarnate shocked all WWE fans when he returned to Monday Night Raw following WrestleMania that year. This led to his match at Extreme Rules the same month.

While John Cena ended up conquering the Beast at the PLE, he didn’t go down without a fight. During one of the spots, he almost injured himself, botching the move in the process.

The biggest babyface ended up scoring a victory against one of his arch-nemesis. Lesnar showed plenty of his prowess in the match. However, things could have ended badly for the ex-UFC Champion. 27 days after he returned to WWE, Brock tried to display his strength at Extreme Rules. However, he met a botch during one of the spots.

In a video resurfacing online, we can see John Cena standing on the apron during the match. Brock Lesnar carefully planted a steel staircase in the middle of the ring, gained momentum, and tried to tackle Cena through the ropes.

The former WWE Universal Champion tried using the staircase to jump higher and further. However, this resulted in a botched spot because of the imperfect balance that it caused. Consequently, Lesnar fell with his opponent, the only difference being that his fall could have been much worse.

As fate favored him that day, Lesnar went on to have a good run in WWE to this day. Recent developments between him and the promotion suggested that he may never come back to the Stamford-based company. But now, we may have a ray of hope.

Firstly, during a recent promo on Monday Night Raw, The Rock beat up Cody Rhodes backstage. There were trucks in the background with the posters of wrestling stars on them. One of them turned out to have Brock Lesnar’s face on it too.

Moreover, The Rock also posted stills from the same segment. As a result, we saw the same thing on his social media posts as well. To add to it all, there have been reports suggesting that WWE wants Brock Lesnar back, and there are talks regarding his imminent return to his former workplace.
