Bruce Prichard recalls Billy Graham’s trendsetting contributions to the wrestling era
While discussing the late “Superstar”, Prichard talks about the greatness of the former wrestler. According to him, Graham was the larger-than-life character the wrestling business ever had.
He recalls saying, “Graham was probably one of the first larger than life characters that this business had and ….the other part of it is is you know Superstar was the first guy really to introduce steroids into this business and to not only just say when you say oh well you introduce steroids”
Further talking about his contributions, Prichard says:
“I think Superstar introduced how to train to Superstar would would tell guys ‘man he goes you’re big and strong and that’s great but you don’t look big and strong’, you hold a picture of Paul Anderson who was the World’s Strongest Man and Superstar Billy Graham side by side and you say to the common person who’s stronger?” nine out of ten are going to pick Superstar Billy Graham.
He went on to explain spontaneously why they would pick Graham. It is because of his level of dedication towards the sport and building an image for himself.

He explained he worked on every aspect of the sport. He placed equal importance to his training regime and his presentation.

“and that was his shtick… because he worked so hard on the presentation of what the Superstar is going to look like and how he was going to be and uh you know always colorful always flamboyant,” he added.
Famous for his flamboyant outfit choices, they added more excitement to audiences and to his performance. Prichard reminisced about Graham’s ability to captivate the audience and his persona. According to him, there is no other like “Superstar”.
Prichard’s views about Graham were very emotional. He describes the amount of respect he holds for the legendary wrestler.
