Calgary Hitmen Immortalize WWE Legend Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart With a Special Gesture

The legacy of WWE legend, Bret Hart, will soon be appreciated in the Western Hockey League. WHL’s Calgary Hitmen team will honor the Canadian wrestler by wearing a special jersey. The Calgary Hitmen revealed their newest jersey themed as Bret “Hitman” Hart.

The WWE legend, Bret Hart, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2013. The Western Hockey League’s team paired up with the Calgary Prostate Cancer Centre. They decided to give a tribute to the WWE wrestler by announcing a Bret Hart game. The WWE legend himself is a fan of WHL’s Calgary Hitmen team.

On 5th March, The Calgary Hitmen players will wear a “Hart” themed jersey against the Edmonton Oil Kings. The Bret “Hitman” Hart game will be held to support prostate cancer research and treatment.

A “Hart” themed game and jersey for a good cause!

The motive behind the Hart game is to raise funds for prostate cancer research. Following the match, the Hart-themed jersey will be autographed by the Hitmen’s member and then auctioned off to the public. The proceeds of the jersey sale will be donated to the Calgary Prostate Cancer Centre.

In addition, the fans will have an opportunity to have a special edition Bret “Hitman” Hart jersey when the sale kicks off. During today’s promotional photoshoot, the WWE Hall of Famer joined the Calgary Hitmen team to advertise the Hart-themed jersey.

Additionally, the newest jersey of The Hitmens’ is very similar to the pink gear of Bret Hart’s attire in the wrestling industry.

It has also been confirmed that the Prairie Wrestling Alliance (PWA) and WHL‘s Hitmen will put on a show for five wrestling matches. The best talent of PWA can showcase their flair in the “Battle of Dome II” front. A wrestling ring will be built on the ice field for the PWA wrestlers to shine.

The name of the Calgary Hitmen suggests that it has a connection with Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart. Also, the WWE Superstar constantly supported the Calgary Hitmen during his time in wrestling, often wearing Calgary’s jersey on WWE programming.

So Bret Hart is the inspiration behind the team’s name, the Calgary Hitmen. The Canadian wrestler was also one of the 18 investors that owned the Calgary Hitmen. But since 1997, The Hitmen’s has been owned by Calgary Flames Limited.
