Cameron Grimes Becomes LA Knight’s Butler After Loss at WWE NXT Great American Bash

WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase brought back the Million Dollar Championship to WWE on its black and gold brand, NXT. After LA Knight won the Million Dollar Championship in a Ladder Match at NXT TakeOver: In Your House, he revealed he had nothing more to gain from the ‘Million Dollar Man.’

Knight attacked DiBiase on NXT after his coronation. This prompted Cameron Grimes to make the save, while also turning face in the process.

LA Knight tried to get away from Cameron Grimes, but ‘NXT’s Richest Man’ wasn’t going to let it happen. He challenged Knight to a match at NXT Great American Bash, which the latter accepted. However, he added a stipulation that if Grimes loses, he would become LA Knight’s butler!

LA Knight cheats to win against Cameron Grimes at NXT Great American Bash

Cameron Grimes didn’t waste a moment as he quickly went after LA Knight. Grimes hit a series of moves, including a beautiful high crossbody, gaining full control in the early going. But Knight made a comeback in the middle.

He went all-in on Cameron Grimes with several power moves such as the Burning Hammer! Despite all this, Grimes didn’t let his guard down. The Million Dollar Champion then started getting restless, as Grimes wasn’t staying down. The frustration reached the peak for LA Knight when the ‘Caveman’ kicked out again.

No matter what LA Knight brought to the table, Cameron Grimes wasn’t going down. Ultimately, Knight pulled out some cheap tricks to win. He rolled to the outside and took the Million Dollar Championship kept at ringside. He tried to get the title in without the referee seeing it, but got caught.

There was a little scuffle between the referee and Knight over the title. Eventually, the title fell outside the ring, while Grimes looked to get the pinfall win with a roll-up. Luckily, LA Knight kicked out in time and saved his championship. However, it seemed like the beginning of the end for him.

The ‘Caveman’ got the momentum with several impressive moves, and then went for the kill with his finisher, the ‘Cave-In.’ However, LA Knight saved himself by rolling outside the ring. Grimes didn’t want to give him a breather and followed him outside.

He went for a running knee strike from the apron. But Knight, who ducked it, instead dropped Grimes hard on the apron. Knight then saw the Million Dollar Championship laying at ringside. He wasted little time and dropped Grimes head-first on the title with a vicious DDT.

LA Knight then brought Grimes back to the ring and hit him with his finisher to get the win. The win not only meant LA Knight retained his Million Dollar Championship, but also meant he earned a butler for himself in the form of Cameron Grimes.
