We know one of the greatest WWE Superstars who has achieved a lot in her 4-year journey with WWE. She has a fanbase like no one else, and the legend also runs a YouTube channel. In her videos, one can find Ronda Rousey to be utterly transparent in her views on any topic. She uses this platform to show her real side to her fans and let them know about her life a little more. In one such video of her, she was found irritated while talking about an age-old way of naming the titles.

She wasn’t okay with WWE for always mentioning the word ‘Women’s’ in the title names. Rowdy wanted the titles to be called gender-free. According to her, just mentioning the brand name should be enough.

She then voiced her opinion in one of her vlogs and spread the word for the higher authorities to listen. This thought might be the opinion of many, but someone had to voice it.

Ronda Rousey gave voice to her opinions

While clarifying her feeling about WWE’s tradition of calling the female titles, Rousey became all blunt. She said, “I don’t want to say ‘women’ in title anymore. And I think they are kind of resistant to taking it out. So then I was like, ‘Can I just not have to say it?

Her statements are a clear indication of her growing anger toward the disparity. In her opinion, a title should just represent the brand name under which the wrestlers are fighting. But mentioning the gender is of no good, as per Rousey.

If we dive deeper, we would know that this naming of a title is not the same for both men and women. When it comes to Men’s Championship titles, it is referred to as WWE or Universal champion.

So, why does a female wrestler face a difference after winning a title with so much of hardship? That was the question behind the current SmackDown Champion’s words.

A brief phase of beautiful change

Surprisingly enough, there has been a small phase during which the roster removed the Women’s term from the championship titles. This is a moment from January 2020, when Rhea Ripley was the NXT Champion and was referred by the same name without the addition of ‘Women’s’ in it.

For that brief moment, both male and female athletes were called using the same terms, without any mention of their genders. However, the beautiful idea stopped soon after WrestleMania 36.

As we already said, the thoughts that Rousey voiced might be the opinions of many. We just need to equally voice it to make a change. Hopefully, the future holds gender-free titles for all respected wrestlers.
