WWE Superstars come from various walks of life. Take Cesaro for example who comes from the Swiss Alps and started off as a soccer player. Not just Cesaro, but we’ve seen American Football players in a WWE ring, but we haven’t really seen a European Footballer. There have been only two times when European Soccer stars have made their presence felt in the WWE.

The first time, it was former Welsh footballer Vinnie Jones who appeared as a Special Guest during WWE’s Capital Carnage PPV in London in 1998. The second time, it was former England-captain Wayne Rooney who slapped the taste out of King Barrett’s mouth.

Cesaro said there are a lot of footballers who could make it, but there was one name that instantly came to his mind. He said, “There’s a lot of footballers that would do well in wrestling. Dejan Lovren will be my number one pick from Croatia. He seems to like a good challenge.”

He continued, “Obviously, [Georgio] Chiellini from Italy. [Domenico] Berardi from Italy. There’s a lot of them, a lot of good ones that I keep discovering more.”

Well, now these three names are certainly interesting candidates to be WWE Superstars. Although we know that would never happen, one cannot rule out the fact any one of these three stars could be in the UK when WWE visits there in the next few months.

Plus, till date, we have only seen footballers from UK making the one-off transition to WWE. It would really be exciting to see a top star from Italy, Spain, Germany or even Croatia make an appearance.

After all, it would do wonders to promote the biggest wrestling company in the world in the European market. Especially, the one dominated by football fans.
