The former NXT superstar was called up to the main roster in October 2020 in time for Survivor Series. She faced Natalya, Tamina and Liv Morgan in a fatal four-way match to determine who will qualify for Team SmackDown.
Green was meant to be the actual winner, but she suffered a wrist injury which forced the result to change. Instead of her, Liv Morgan won the match and paved her path to Survivor Series. Meanwhile, Green was recuperating from her injury at home.

The Superstar has posted a picture of her ring gear on Twitter with the caption reading, “Comeback Kid.” She also mentioned WWE in the tweet which is too simple of a hint for a fan to not understand.
It is not clear whether Green’s injuries have healed and if she’s cleared to return to the ring. Green wrestled her last match on November 13th, 2020. Prior to debuting on the main roster, her last NXT match was on May 27th, 2020. This means Green has only wrestled two matches in a span of eight months.

Ring rust will be an issue for the talented superstar
Whether she returns as soon as possible or takes her own time, Chelsea Green is going to have a very thick coat of ring rust. She will have to dig down deep and wrestle every SmackDown Superstar if she wants to return to her usual form. Being the injury prone wrestler that she is, wrestling once a week might just be too strenuous for her.

By looking at the positive side, we can be excited to see Green face off against some of the best in the business. The SmackDown women’s division is currently popping with talent. Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks are the biggest babyfaces on the brand while Carmella and Bayley are killing it in the heel department.
Chelsea Green is a natural heel and will fit right in with Bayley and Carmella. Her matches against the likes of Sasha Banks, Bianca Belair, and even the mid-card comprising Liv Morgan, Ruby Riott, Natalya and Billie Kay will receive a boost via Chelsea Green.
