In a recent Question and answer session on his YouTube channel, AEW Superstar Chris Jericho answered all questions that his fans had in a one and a half-hour long stream.  In the session, he briefly discussed the main difference between AEW and WWE to him.

Chris Jericho was one of WWE’s best heels back in the Attitude Era. His mic skills are unparalleled and he always has the crowd wrapped around his finger.

However, after not being used to his full potential in recent years, Jericho received a huge offer from WWE’s rival promotion AEW. He would take up the offer and find himself in a key role in the new company.

Now that he has a taste of both worlds, Jericho revealed his thought on the difference between the two companies.

“I guess I would say that the biggest difference is just the creativity,” says Jericho. “Much more creative freedom in AEW and just a whole other level of fun that to me is kind of the cool hint. It made wrestling fun again.”

Vince McMahon wanted Chris Jericho back

Chris Jericho revealed in a recent interview that he had told Vince McMahon before signing the AEW contract and did so on his approval. Shortly after he signed, however, McMahon called him asking him not to sign and to back out of it.

Jericho, having already signed the contract, made it clear that there was nothing he could do and from there, his new career began. Jericho has been the ring-leader in the rating war against NXT.

His ‘Demo-God’ segment was solely able to rally viewers away from NXT this past week towards AEW. A reborn Jericho finds himself very well utilized in AEW and looks to rally more viewers in the coming weeks.

WWE’s bigger size and the presence of three rosters gives a good backing to Jericho’s statements. Its space for creativity is wide, and ideas are much broader.

Every storyline can be directed to a larger scheme of events. Essentially, there is a larger battleground.

AEW has an enormous upper hand over WWE NXT, at least for this week in terms of viewership ratings. The boost in ratings means that AEW may take over and win the Wednesday Night Wars against NXT.

It won’t be long before the promotion will be competing with RAW and SmackDown themselves. Chris Jericho could be the key here, as AEW recruits more and more fan favorites.
