WWE has been taking pay-per-view events to Saudi Arabia for a few years now. The 2018 Royal Rumble was the first large-scale show organized in the country following a strategic deal between Saudi Arabia and WWE. As part of the ten-year contract between the two, WWE has been going back to Saudi Arabian venues several times. It was done as a part of their agenda of focusing on the overall exposure of entertainment sports in the country.

Now, in advance of another Saudi Arabian PLE, Crown Jewel, WWE bigwigs Vince McMahon and The Undertaker have taken time to put their thoughts out to the public regarding the ever-expanding dynamic between WWE and Saudi Arabia.

The Deadman and Mr. McMahon also attended a media scrum afterward where they reflected on a wide range of topics. Speaking about the mutual efforts of WWE and Saudi Arabia to elevate entertainment sports in the country, McMahon noted, ”Well I think they’re doing so much. Crown Jewel 2023 will make part of a massive financial promise by Saudi Arabia to WWE

The Crown Jewel 2023 card looks all stacked up with a lot of bigwigs like Roman Reigns, Rhea Ripley, and Seth Rollins set to take part. The hype around the event already seems to reach up to the level of WrestleMania if not more. That said, WWE didn’t build the tension for nothing.

A report has suggested that WWE garnered more money from the controversial Saudi Arabian deal than they ever earned from WrestleMania PLEs. Now, WWE’s decision to keep on hyping the Saudi Arabian event despite the massive backlash makes sense.
