CM Punk made his presence on RAW last week as he had a short segment dedicated to his return to close the night. His presence not only affected the sales of tickets for live audiences but also the TV ratings for RAW. It also clarified that he would be working as a RAW superstar while SmackDown has another major addition to their roster.
Hence, fans will be expecting him this week again at RAW. However, sports journalist Dave Meltzer reports that fans may be in for an upset.

WWE fans may be disappointed by CM Punk this week
Wrestle Features provided an update on X on 4th December regarding CM Punk and Monday Night RAW on 5th December. Renowned Wrestling Journalist Dave Meltzer reported for Wrestling Observer that CM Punk hasn’t been advertised for the upcoming episode of RAW, meaning that he likely won’t be on. Nearly 1700 tickets were sold for RAW in the last week as fans anticipated the presence of CM Punk.
Dave Meltzer claims that WWE have sold almost 1,700 tickets in the past week for #WWERAW tonight.
Meltzer believes this is due to fans expecting Punk to be there, but they are going to be upset because he’s not advertised to appear on the show.

Though, the reason for his absence is not revealed he may make a last-minute appearance. But how will his absence affect the show’s ratings?
Well, for the live audience ticket sales, it may not, as fans are likely to continue buying tickets with the hope of seeing The Best in The World live. However, the TV ratings may be affected negatively as Punk’s presence improved the show ratings despite what some have called a “contrived” promo. In fact, the return of Punk and Randy Orton on Survivor Series has impacted both brands positively.

CM Punk and Randy Orton made their highly anticipated return to RAW at Survivor Series. While CM Punk’s return was shocking, Orton’s return was announced in advance. The Viper appeared on SmackDown as Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce fought for The Apex Predator.

The presence of both superstars on either brand has improved the ratings. While SmackDown has been performing well this year, RAW got a major boost with Punk’s return. They reached 0.65 ratings for the P18-49 category and received 1.8 million viewers. So it seems that Punk has been mostly responsible for RAW’s newest boost. This could mean that fans have the promotion in a chokehold, wherein the absence of Punk could lead to a severe drop in ratings this week.
