Randy Orton’s return was a planned setup, and fans knew that The Apex Predator was set to return on Survivor Series. However, while there was hope, fans had slim expectations for the return of CM Punk, but The Second City Saint made a surprise entrance just as the show was about to end. With that, WWE welcomed two greats of the squared circle back into the company.
Many would now prefer a potential rivalry between the two powerful men. Strangely enough though, their rivalry has already started—not in the ring, but rather in terms of merchandise sales.

Why is CM Punk set to overtake Orton in merch sales?
The Survivor Series was a great PLE for both the fans and the stars. In fact, the announcement of Randy Orton’s return brought joy to The Viper since, in just a week, his Strike First Viper Bolt T-Shirt became a top-selling item on the WWE shop. However, with the startling return of CM Punk, Orton will have tough competition to retain that spot.

Currently, Punk’s Survivor Series T-shirt has already earned the third spot in the shop, slowly gaining on Orton. This is only a day since Punk made his way to the Stamford-based promotion. Notably, the time that the two pieces of merch were up for sale on the site also varied considerably, leading credence to the fact that Orton is about to be overtaken very soon. Orton’s merchandise was put up last Monday, and Punk’s shirt went up in less than a day.
Given this equation, it looks to be possible that Punk could convincingly take over that spot. And it will be gripping to see for how long he retains it. Especially as the two will start appearing on Raw this week.
Both veterans are set to appear on RAW
CM Punk and Randy Orton will appear on Raw after a long span of 10 years. On Saturday at Survivor Series, Orton’s return played an important role in helping Cody Rhodes’ team against The Judgment Day. As the main event concluded, fans saw a grand, shocking return of The Best in the World to the Stamford-based promotion.
