Cody Rhodes Injury: Was The American Nightmare Injured at SmackDown 04/26 Against Carmelo Hayes
Cody Rhodes had his first title defense since WrestleMania XL victory during the first night of the WWE Draft 2024. The Undisputed Universal Champion retained against Carmelo Hayes in the match, but there was a spot that worried fans given his current power position in WWE. During the match, the new champion and his opponent ran in opposite directions from each other to perform simultaneous aerial moves.

Although he ended up winning the match, The American Nightmare didn’t have a smooth match from start to end. During one of the spots, Rhodes was stunned, and his opponent ran to one of the ropes to perform an aerial attack. The champion ran in the opposite direction to deliver a ‘Cody Cutter’. The botched timing didn’t allow Hayes to catch his opponent mid-air and Cody Rhodes bounced shoulder-first on the wrestling match.
