One of the prominent moments in his wrestling career came in 2008 when he formed a faction named Legacy alongside DiBiase and Orton. Despite forming partnerships with different wrestlers, Rhodes failed to find a proper footing in the world's biggest wrestling promotion. Cody has a very giving heart and has done his fair share of helping society. During the pandemic, he released a new line of American Nightmare T-shirts to be sold as merchandise and announced that the profits from the sales would be directed to the relief of COVID-19 patients.

In 2017, following a match, Cody auctioned off his boots and donated the money to Austin Pets Alive, an organization that takes care of stray dogs and other pets.
