We can only easily measure the height of the success of our favorite WWE superstars, but that does not quench our thirst to know them on a deeper level. Reading into that pulse, superstars often get candid about their journey, pumping up our respect and love for them. Recently, Rated R superstar Edge talked about the dominant moving force behind his fairy tale WWE career and it was not a typical stereotype.

More often than not, we found superstars having driven toward the squared circle because of their established family legacy in the business. Growing up in a wrestling environment also causes them to possess a natural inclination toward the game. Some wrestlers also landed in the WWE world by chance with no prior wish. But with Edge, none of these popular scenarios make sense.

He lived a simple childhood, miles away from the glaring spotlight of the wrestling world. He only had his mom and beloved Uncle Gary to look up to in life. That said, he had two celebrity idols, Holywood superstar Sylvester Stallone, and a prized musician Ace Frehley. While Frehley’s pursuits with guitar and music didn’t float Edge’s boat, Stallone’s movies used to fascinate his superhero freak mind. This is how the Hall of Famer started brewing an immense interest in the game.

During an appearance in Brotherly Love Podcast, the Ultimate Opportunist noted, ‘‘There was something about Stallone and I also related to my uncle Gary kind of looked like Stallone. So really kind of one and the same to me and I think that’s why I’ve always had such a soft spot for Stallone and then learning more about his story over the years, it’s just really made me respect like just the determination and grit that dude had, so I had decided I wanted to be a wrestler the first time I saw it kind of came along after Stallone and I thought.

”I don’t know what this is but I can’t stop watching it like there I am just locked onto this thing and I think looking back it was comic books come to life right” Edge continued expressing his overwhelming admiration over Stallone movies.

In fact, Stallone’s Rocky Balboa character inspired Edge to rethink his retirement decision and paved the way for his rampant come back into the mix
