Last January, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a complaint against Vince McMahon, detailing certain inappropriate behavior she allegedly experienced with him. In addition, she indirectly implicated Brock Lesnar as well. As a consequence, WWE opted to remove Brock Lesnar from programming, although they did not fire him.

The Beast’s absence from WWE’s schedule since his match with Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam has brought forth intense speculation about his future at the company. Fans are wondering if Lesnar will return to WWE. Triple H suggested post-Mania that the door was not shut on The Beast’s return. And now a former WCW star has put forward an ideal opponent for Lesnar’s return. Let’s find out, shall we?

Despite getting to enjoy a surge in the quality of the product, the WWE Universe has missed the towering presence of The Beast. The wrestling community can remain hopeful that Lesnar’s exit won’t be a long one after Triple H’s comments on him. And a WCW legend has taken the chance to highlight an ideal opponent for the former UFC star upon his comeback. In a recent podcast episode of ‘Keepin it 100’, former WCW and WWE legend Konnan revealed that Brock Lesnar could face Gunther next. While talking about opponents for The Ring General, he said, “There might be a change man, I don’t know. Because I keep seeing that Brock is back on the roster. He’s coming back or something like that so maybe they’ll go back to Brock and Gunther too.”

Initially, there were plans for Lesnar to participate in the Royal Rumble. However, these plans were scrapped due to his legal entanglements with the Vince McMahon lawsuit. Bron Breakker replaced him and put on a stellar display. In addition, Lesnar was earmarked to face Gunther at WrestleMania 40, something that also did not happen. But now the WWE could let this pipe dream come to fruition, according to Konnan. But when can we expect the Beast to return? Fret not, we have an update on that front as well.

The Beast’s expected time of arrival

As per Dave Meltzer in Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Brock Lesnar’s situation differs from that of Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis. The latter duo remains unlikely to return to WWE. Meanwhile, The Beast Incarnate is expected to return at some point. However, Meltzer also noted that Lesnar’s return was not imminent as there were no immediate plans for him.

He wrote, “We’d been told a few weeks ago that it was one of those deals unlike McMahon and John Laurinaitis who are likely never coming back, in that at some point he’d be back. We were also told at that time it wasn’t going to be that soon and it was nothing in the immediate plans.”

Brock Lesnar will remain under contract with WWE for the time being, which completely rules out that he will be fired. However, we will have to wait and see how the delicate nature of the lawsuit evolves. What do you think? Who should Lesnar face next when he returns? Do you agree with Konnan’s suggestion? Let us know in the comments.
