In the modern WWE era, Bianca Belair has come out as one of the top stars in the company. Few others have been able to perform consistently at the highest level like Belair has for the past three years. Now, for performing at her best every single day, it doesn’t come as a surprise that she has broken a 14-year-old record.

Belair has already made historical moments in WWE, so this record-breaking run doesn’t come as a surprise. Just two years ago, Belair became one of only five women to wrestle in the main event of WrestleMania. Sasha Banks and Belair made history as first black women to compete in the main event of The Show of Shows.

And now she has just broken the record of being the longest reigning black champion in WWE history, man or woman.

Bianca Belair broke a 14-year record in WWE

The RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair has been instrumental in building up the women’s roster in WWE in the new era. This is her first run with the title and she won it on WrestleMania 38 Night 1 by defeating Becky Lynch. Lynch had pinned Belair on the previous SummerSlam under 26 seconds. Since then, Belair has defended her title for the past 11 months against all sorts of opponents, with title reign going strong for 347 days as of writing.

Before her historic reign, MVP held the record of being the longest-reigning black champion in WWE. He held the US Championship for 343 days, starting from May 20, 2007, to April 27, 2008.

Belair will be continuing to hold the championship until WrestleMania 39, which is on April 1 and 2. So, Belair will be marking her name in the history books as the only black champion in WWE to hold a title for over a year. Moreover, this could continue if she manages to beat Asuka at the grandest stage of them all.
