Controversial Ex WWE Star Who Is Set To Make a “Return to Wrestling” Officially Challenges Goldberg to a Retirement Match

It’s pretty common for a former wrestler to get his feet back in the ring without putting in much effort. We have seen a handful of wrestlers return to the ring over the years except for former WWE wrestler Ryback. He was fired by the Stamford-based company back in 2016 and hasn’t been seen on the professional wrestling scene ever since.

But it seems like this time Ryback is laser-focused to be back in the ring very soon. Not only did he make up his mind for his comeback but also issued an open challenge to the former WWE superstar Goldberg for a match as his next opponent.

Ryback publically challenged Goldberg to face him in his retirement match

Lately, the former multi-time WCW champion, Goldberg, made noise regarding his one last match inside the squared circle. Previously, the Hall of Famer noted that WWE owed him a retirement match. While the company didn’t address this, Goldberg even expressed his wish to go outside of the company to make it happen.

There was much speculation in wrestling world regarding who can be the best opponent for the 56-year-old former superstar. AEW champion MJF emerged as the rumored opponent of him over the internet at one time.

But now, finally, it looked like the opponent himself knocked on his door. Ryback made an open post on Twitter calling out the veteran for a retirement match which will make his returning match too. He wrote. ”I will be cleared this summer to officially return to wrestling. I challenge @Goldberg in my return to a Retirement Match. #Ryback #Hungry#FeedMeMore.”

On the contrary, the controversial WWE star has his eyes on AEW as well.

Does he tend to keep all doors open for his in-ring entry by any chance?

Ryback simultaneously hinted about a potential AEW debut

Given that his relationship with WWE has taken a nosedive over the past couple of years, Ryback isn’t depending on WWE for forcing his way back into the wrestling world. Rather, he’s actively looking up to the rival promotion for a chance amidst the ongoing promotional war.

The Big Guy uploaded a video clip on his YouTube channel, flaunting his past wrestling skill with an AEW logo flashing at the very start.

Whether it was just a playful gesture for the sake of content or genuinely meant to indicate a potential move to AEW, it definitely sparked speculation among wrestling fans.
