Dakota Kai Turns Heel, Attacks Raquel Gonzalez in a Shocking Turns of Events on WWE NXT

WWE NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez has been dominating the ring since she secured the title. In fact, currently, everyone thought there is no one on the roster who can challenge her for the title.

However, on NXT: July 27th, 2021 Raquel Gonzalez was challenged, and it was none other than Dakota Kai.

On the latest NXT episode, Dakota Kai and the NXT Women’s Champion came out to the ring. Both of them began discussing Gonzalez’s dominance over the NXT roster. However, it was agreed that Kai’s support meant a lot to her championship reign.

Following this, The Champion turned around to pose with the title, and that’s when Dakota Kai turned heel! She attacked her from behind and laid her out with a brutal kick. As Raquel Gonzalez suffered through the painful kick, Kai took the title and raised it up in the air over the champion.

Well, it’s done! Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez will feud for the NXT Championship title. Most likely culminating with a match at NXT TakeOver: 36.

Raquel Gonzalez spoke about giving Dakota Kai a chance

In an interview, the NXT Champion revealed that she was open to giving Kai a shot at the WWE NXT Women’s Championship title. However, she has to ask.

“[Dakota’s] look was more at Xia Li, she just stepped on her moment. Dakota and I haven’t really discussed jealousy. Every time this topic or discussion comes up, I’m totally open about it. I will say, if Dakota wants an opportunity (at the NXT Women’s Championship), I will gladly give it to her. Why not? She deserves it and has earned it. All she has to do is ask.”

However, while she is still the WWE NXT Champion, Gonzalez wants to become the NXT Tag Team Champion as well, alongside Dakota Kai.

“Definitely (I plan on still competing in the tag team division). My girl wants gold. We gotta finish wrapping Dakota (in gold). Personally, I’m loving making history as the first Dusty Classic winner and the first NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion. Why not also be the first NXT double champion?”
