The last time we saw Lesnar was against Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. He was acting as the promised son, the messiah who could end Reigns’ reign, but he failed. Wrestling fans are some of the most passionate people in the world. But they can be behind one wrestler all their career until they go face-to-face against someone else, then throw razzes against the same persona. And after Raw ended, Shelton Benjamin, a man who is connected to both these wrestlers, pointed out the fact that they were cheering for Lashley, who the fans were fist-bumping and high-fiving, until he was subjected to another F5, the finishing move of Lesnar.

Benjamin, as you’ll remember, was part of The Hurt Business. Here he was in a faction with Cedric Alexander, his tag partner, and Bobby Lashley, the big man and MVP, the talker. Being in this group made Benjamin feel relevant since his comeback.

Just like that, you also probably know about Benjamin’s connection to Lesnar. Both of them shared the same locker room back in the Beast’s NCAA days. And when WWE came knocking, he proposed that he wanted Benjamin to be signed as well. In the developmental brand OVW, Lesnar and Benjamin would also win the tag titles. Moreover, The Gold Standard used to be an assistant coach of Lesnar at the University of Minnesota.
