Hulk Hogan was arguably one of the biggest names in the wrestling world during his heydays. Throughout his career, he won multiple titles and accolades. Apart from winning championships, he also ‘main-evented’ several WrestleMania events. In the current generation of wrestling, Cody Rhodes, and Roman Reigns are two of the biggest names. At WrestleMania 39, Rhodes faced Reigns in a hardcore battle, which would end with Rhodes losing to Reigns.

During an interview with Forbes, Hulk Hogan would open up on Rhodes’ loss to Reigns at ‘Mania, and how it was actually good for the business. He explained in detail and justified why WWE took the correct decision by having Reigns retain the title, rather than losing it.

What were Hulk Hogan’s words?

The 69-year-old ‘Hulkster’ during an interview with Forbes opened up about the wrestling industry, including ‘The American Nightmare’s’ loss to ‘The Tribal Chief’. He stated that it was indeed the correct decision.

Hogan said, “Well, they better acknowledge Roman Reigns brother, because if he takes off and goes to Hollywood, everybody’s going to be sorry. But that’s a tough one too now, because Cody Rhodes is my boy.”

He further continued, “Believable all the way, so his time’s coming. This is just like a warm up. He’s getting in the mix. They’re getting that momentum built before he puts that spike in Roman, so it could get crazy.”

Hogan justified that WWE is building Rhodes up to finally defeat Roman Reigns, and make the story more believable. Since it was Rhodes’ first WrestleMania main event, he might have succumbed to the pressure. But having him prepared to live up to great expectations and then defeating Reigns, would make Rhodes’ story more believable.

Cody Rhodes suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of Brock Lesnar at Night of Champions after passing out from a kimura lock. Rhodes would be left withering in pain inside the ring, while Lesnar walked away with the victory.

However, it seems the two are far away from a conclusion to their rivalry. After their match, Lesnar would get back to Rhodes signaling a final matchup between the two. With Rhodes now nursing an arm injury, he is unlikely to return anytime soon.
