WWE’s biggest Premium Live Event, WrestleMania 40 is on the horizon. However, there is one hurdle left for any star who wants to main event the PLE. The Royal Rumble 2024 has two top contenders who want to win the main event. On one hand, we have Cody Rhodes, and on the other, CM Punk. Both the stars have claimed that they have a story to finish. To do so, they have to go through a rite of passage. Fans have praised Punk’s return, thus making him a possible winner. But WWE veteran Mick Foley believes that might not be the case.

Why does Mick Foley want Cody Rhodes to main event WrestleMania again?

Foley was present at the latest episode of WWE’s talk show, The Bump. On the show, what are his predictions for the Royal Rumble 2024? He was asked who out of Rhodes and Punk might be the winner at the Rumble. Upon some pondering, the Hall of Famer stated that he would love to see Cody Rhodes main-eventing WrestleMania once again. Foley believes that it would be the perfect end to his story.

He further added that fans were very disappointed when Rhodes could not defeat Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. But according to the WWE legend, he has earned a lot that night. “He earned something more important than the WWE title, he earned the respect of all the nay-sayers.” Foley also stated that Cody Rhodes was able to make Brock Lesnar respect him, which is a huge feat. ” I mean Brock Lesnar would put you through the ringer and when Brock (Lesnar) shook his hand, unexpected, he meant it.”

Foley concluded by saying, “He (Brock Lesnar) really respected Cody for surviving that, and the fans respected it so now they are even more ready for Cody to claim that ultimate prize.” stating that ending his story at the upcoming WrestleMania would be the perfect scenario for him.
