It takes a lot to impress the WWE chairman Vince McMahon. But WWE superstar Kofi Kingston impressed Vince after he destroyed a NASCAR car on WWE Live TV.
Kofi had an enormous WWE career. He gifted the fans several memorable moments. He won several championships. But in 2019, he became the WWE Champion and proved everyone wrong who doubted him.
Though Vince McMahon called Kofi nothing more than a B+ player on-screen prior to WrestleMania 35, he knew Kofi was a star. In fact, Vince got convinced that Kofi is a star after he destroyed a NASCAR car.

During the Wrestling with Freddie Podcast, Freddie Prinze Jr. recalled that this incident happened during an angle with Randy Orton.
The former WWE writer said, “One of these guys gave Randy Orton a NASCAR. And Kofi’s going just ballistic for something that happened. The man is holding an ax, and he’s cutting holes into the hood of what looks like, and it’s clearly not, but of what looks like a two million dollar car.”
Further, Freddie described Vince’s reaction to Kofi destroying the car.
He added, “Then Kofi finally puts the axe through the windshield, or if you’re in England, the windscreen. He just jumps off the car and storms off, and Vince is like, ‘Dammit. Yes!’ and, ‘This kid’s gonna be a star!'” [H/T: Ringside News]

Vince McMahon had put several obstacles in front of Kofi Kingston in his pursuit for the WWE Championship
Kofi Kingston had his big moment at WrestleMania 35. On that night, he defeated Bryan Danielson (previously known as Daniel Bryan in WWE) to become the WWE Champion for the first time.
But to get that opportunity, he and The New Day had to cross several hurdles. Following Kofi’s impressive performance at the 2019 Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event, the fans had Kofi’s back massively.

They further cheered him and supported him in his pursuit to become the WWE Champion. But Mr. McMahon had put several obstacles in Kofi’s path to glory.
After WWE Fastlane, Mr. McMahon announced Kofi will get a WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 35. But for that to happen, he needed to defeat Sheamus, Samoa Joe, Cesaro, Erick Rowan, and Randy Orton in a gauntlet match.

However, Mr. McMahon gave Kofi another chance. But this time, Big E and Xavier Woods would have to win a tag team gauntlet match to make Kofi compete at WrestleMania. Big E and Woods successfully did that, and thus, played a major role in Kofi Kingston going to WrestleMania 35.
