Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam Joins Hands With Neil Gaiman’s Creation Sandman’s Justice Society of America

The upcoming movie DCEU’s Black Adam is the current buzz in Hollywood as the next major superhero movie. Dwayne Johnson, who is playing the ruler of Khandaq, is excited about showing his new project to the fans this October.

Recently, The Rock shared a photo in which we saw together all the major characters of the movie Black Adam.

Dwayne Johnson uploaded a picture of Black Adam standing with the Justice Society of America. It is a new theater display for Warner Bros. Discovery’s upcoming film.

The photo shared by Johnson shows life-size standees of Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), Black Adam, Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell), and Hawkman (Aldis Hodge) standing in a row. However, one of the one member i.e. Neil Gaiman’s creation Sandman, who is a founding member of JSA in comics, isn’t a part of the movie.

Black Adam movie is not just the superhero genre debut for The Great One. It is also the debut of much awaited Justice Society of America. For years, the hardcore fans of DCEU wanted to see Dr. Fate, and Hawkman in the movies, which will happen in this movie.

As for the origins of JSA members, the film’s stars have teased that the team’s members have comic-accurate origins in the DCEU. 

It seems, in this movie, Black Adam will join hands with JSA to defeat the villain who is said to be Sabbac. However, the fans wish Black Adam and Shazam to face off each other in the post-credit scenes as in comics, both the characters are arch rivals.

What is the story of Black Adam that Dwayne Johnson is playing?

Black Adam is the protector of the fictional city Kahndaq in DC comics, which is located near the country of Egypt on the African continent.

Black Adam aka Teth-Adam is born in the year 1279 BC. Teth-Adam is the son of the ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Ramesses II. He impresses one of the high priests, the wizard Shazam, with his good deeds. The wizard then gives Teth-Adam the power to become the superhero, Mighty Adam.

However, Tenth Adam becomes a corrupted person later and to rule the whole of Egypt, he kills the Pharoah. The wizard Shazam, after watching, takes away Adam’s power and buries him in his father’s tomb. In death, they refer to the former hero as “Khem-Adam” in comics which translates to “Black Adam”. Dwayne Johnson will play the part when Adam comes to life 5000 years later and wants to take back his powers.
