Following in his father’s footsteps, the reigning WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair is arguably one of the most accomplished female wrestlers of all time.

Born in royalty, Charlotte Flair worked really hard to get from NXT to main-eventing WrestleMania. However, wrestling was not her first choice. The reason she came into the business was because of her younger brother.

Ric Flair has been married five times, so it’s natural that Charlotte Flair is not alone, and has some siblings.

Flair also had a younger brother, Reid Flair, who was the youngest son of two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair. While David Flair is still there outside the wrestling world, Charlotte’s younger brother Reid passed away in 2013.

What happened to Charlotte Flair’s brother, Reid Flair?

Ric Flair’s youngest son, Reid Flair, followed in his father’s footsteps very early in his life. He performed with his father, Ric Flair, in WCW and also wrestled for several other promotions.

It certainly looked that Reid would capture the wrestling world just like his father did when he was in his prime in the 70s and 80s. He had several bouts in WCW, with one being a victory against WCW president Eric Bischoff in 2000.

However, Reid was found dead at a Residence Inn in Charlotte, at only 25 years old. Weeks later, his autopsy report would show there were traces of drugs in his system. It was reported that these two tranquilizers contributed to his death.

The death of his younger brother affected Charlotte Flair in every way imaginable. The reigning champion entered into the pro-wrestling business because she wanted to pay tribute to her brother, Reid.
