While taking a break from his WWE commitments, The Rock is once again focused on his film projects. One of them is ‘Red One’, a Christmas movie produced by Amazon MGM and the Rock’s own Seven Bucks Productions.

The movie hits the big screen and small screen alike in November 2024. However, the film suffered several production issues, which lead to a delay in making its original release date by the end of 2023. Originally, the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike that hit Hollywood was attributed for the delay. However, a new point of view came to light when Dwayne Johnson emerged as the catalyst for the issues instead. In fact, he suffers the same accusations when it comes to WrestleMania XL as well! So what did the Rock do? Let’s find out.

Red One was envisioned by Amazon, MGM, and Seven Bucks as the start of a new holiday movie franchise. Dwayne Johnson shares the screen with the likes of Chris Evans, Lucy Liu, and J.K. Simmons. Nevertheless, a recent report by The Wrap claims that the Hollywood star was highly unprofessional during the making of the film, thus resulting in it being delayed. In fact, The Rock also arrived 3 hours late for a scheduled appearance for WrestleMania and the WWE World. However, the WWE has come out in defense of the Brahma Bull and his “chronic tardiness”.

According to Chris Legentil, WWE’s head of global communications and talent relations, Johnson arrived on time for WrestleMania. In fact, he arrived hours early to help with the rehearsal, and it was a pleasure to work with him throughout the event. He said, “Dwayne was not only on time for WrestleMania, he was hours early to help with rehearsal — and a pleasure to work with throughout the entire run.”

So that’s one myth about his WWE-related tardiness debunked. But what accusations does he face related to the upcoming film?

The Rock garners blame for unprofessional behavior

The Wrap revealed several behind-the-scenes details on Red One. The report claims that several members of the group working on the film have pointed out that Dwayne Johnson is “incompetent and unprofessional” in the production section. To the point of relegating several of his tasks to Hiram Garcia, Julie Rapaport, and Glenn Gainor, other producers in charge of the project with less experience. They also criticized his conduct of refusing public toilets and using water bottles to urinate.

The reason for those relays lies in The Rock’s bad habit of not complying with work schedules. The film’s production team described delays of up to eight hours to get to the set and even noted absences of full days. As a result, several scenes in the film had to be shot in a parallel studio, where other actors recorded their roles while the film’s protagonist arrived on set. As a result, the film’s budget generated more than $50 million in expenses related to The Rock’s tardiness. Now that’s some serious allegation to be made. But only time will tell how true it is, and how the Rock reacts to it.

So what do you think? Do you believe that the report is true? Let us know in the comments.
