Recently, during the Triller Fight Club Legends II event, we saw the former President of the United States Donald Trump. Donald Trump was asked about his recent induction in the Boxing New Jersey Hall of fame. Trump thanked Vince McMahon for inducting him into the WWE Hall of Fame. He also talked about his experience appearing on WWE TV as a boxing bout was underway.

Trump commentated on Triller Fight Club’s most recent card. The card featured some huge names, from UFC legends Anderson Silva, Tito Ortiz and Vitor Belfort to the return of boxing legend Evander Holyfield for one more fight. Triller previously featured Jake Paul vs Ben Askren’s fight, which received a huge number of PPV buys.

Donald Trump on Working with Vince McMahon

It would be an understatement to say that the two men in question are polarising. Both have been running successful business empires. We have known both men to get involved in controversies and rather benefit from it. It shouldn’t be a surprise to expect that both of them could rake in money with their tactics.

Both men did just that as they had chosen fighters at WrestleMania 23 to represent them in a bout titled battle of the billionaires. Vince chose Umaga while Trump chose the current WWE Champion Bobby Lashley. Stone Cold Steve Austin was the special guest referee, and his involvement led to Trump shaving off Vince’s hair in front of thousands of people. 

However, it seems outside kayfabe there is mutual respect between the two men. Talking about Vince. Trump said during his commentary stint, “Vince McMahon was great, he put me in the WWE Hall of Fame, I shaved his head, the battle of the billionaires. Which was the highest-rated fight at WrestleMania. That was a long time ago, 11 years ago. That was a great one in Detroit”.

Both men surely know how to make something must-watch, be it in the ring or other ventures which garners traction. WWE has always used famous personalities from other sports or industries to come in and sprinkle some mainstream attention on the product. WrestleMania, being one of the most-watched events in the entire world, certainly helps both parties symbiotically.
