There are many controversial figures in the WWE, past and present. However, no one comes close to Chris Benoit. Once hailed as the greatest technical wrestler of his generation, three days from June 22 to June 24, 2007 would change everything. The name would live in infamy and never ever heard again in the halls of the WWE. However, WWE fans were shocked to see the talk about another ‘Benoit.’
Benoit was a two-time world champion, once with the WWE and once with the WCW. He would have won his third championship had the tragic events not taken place.

WWE fans mistake Benoît Badiashile for Chris Benoit
Benoît Badiashile is a French defender who plays for the prestigious European club Chelsea in the Premier League. His claim to fame came on January 5, 2023, when he signed for the English club from Monaco. The Frenchman has garnered an immense reputation as a wonderkid with his potential to usurp the best defenders in the world.

WWE’s Benoit, on the other hand, first made his name in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, followed by WCW. He moved to the WWE during the Attitude Era and soon became one of the most loved technical wrestlers. His friendship with fellow wrestler Eddie Guerrero is still cherished to this day.
