The former WWE champion Brock Lesnar has made quite a name for himself in combat sports. The Beast Incarnate has switched between major promotions like UFC and WWE. Lesnar is now retired from MMA but he’s still signed with WWE. Although, The Conqueror always avoided the question of picking his favorite promotion, one time he accidentally did.

Dana White and Vince McMahon had successfully managed their promotion over the years. Both the promoters have taken their company to the top in their respective sports. But when Brock Lesnar got a twisted question on which promotion he liked the best, he almost favored Dana White.

In a 2011 interview when Lesnar was still in UFC, the S.I. interviewed him about his biography and his journey in the UFC so far. Lesnar said, “I finally found my calling, and it’s to be an ultimate fighter.”

Thus, he differentiated between WWE and the UFC. But soon he realized that this statement may offend people later, so he corrected it quickly.

Lesnar corrected himself, “But don’t get me wrong: The WWE did a lot for me. They made me a household name throughout the world. It’s just that in the WWE, the pen and paper are pushing you, along with the man behind the company. In the UFC, I kind of had to make my own name.”

He further said that while White wants his fighters to do well, it was up to the athletes to do the work ultimately.

Brock Lesnar: His admiration for Vince McMahon

Maybe Brock Lesnar had the plan all along of making a return to the WWE, hence he didn’t want to upset the wrestling fans. But Lesnar has never spoken ill about any of the promotions he worked with. However, Lesnar had a hard time understanding the vision of Vince McMahon in his early WWE days.

Brock Lesnar said McMahon had dealt with a ton of wrestlers. Lesnar was unable to get a ‘good read’ from him. However, the wrestler admired how McMahon made his product extremely successful.

Vince McMahon made Brock Lesnar famous all over and after that, he was able to join the UFC. Lesnar never hesitated from acknowledging that fact and praising McMahon. Perhaps that’s the reason Brock Lesnar walked away from SmackDown taping after he heard the news of Vince McMahon’s retirement. What do you think?
